Younger sister Jennifer instinctively tries to protect him, from predators, from his best friend Jace, and most of all from himself. But, who can these 1950s New Zealand children trust? Waynton Police pick through the pieces of a series of puzzling, seemingly unconnected incidents. They eventually find some answers. But do they, can they discover what really went into the making of Travis? This is a dark, convincing, frighteningly believable tale of things no child should ever have to endure.
