Background
Member of New Zealand Police for 17 years attaining commissioned rank of Inspector.
Legal advisor at Police National Headquarters, Wellington, for 6 years. Graduated LLB, 1980,
from Victoria University of Wellington. Resigned from the Police force in 1982 to practice law full-time.
Staff solicitor and partner in general common law practice in Hamilton for 5 years, and became a barrister thereafter to present.
Specialising in criminal, mental health, youth justice, traffic, and related areas of law. Was ministerially appointed as District
Inspector of Mental Health Services from time to time for 19 years and ceased this role in June 2008. Currently practicing principally,
but not exclusively, in the Bay of Plenty region from Tauranga, New Zealand.
